God’s gift to me…my gift to GOD

Dear Friends in Christ,

It gives me great pleasure to introduce you to this year’s stewardship campaign – GOD’S gift to me…my gift to GOD.

Stewardship is defined in the Holman Bible dictionary as “utilizing and managing all resources God provides for the glory of God and the betterment of His creation.” As followers of Christ, we believe all that we have comes ultimately from Him, as stated in Psalm 24:1 “The earth is the Lord’s, everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” He blesses each and every one of us with our wealth, our talents and spiritual gifts, and even our time allotted on this earth. Each person receives a unique combination of these blessings and gets to choose how to use these blessings each and every day. And when we one day join the Church Triumphant, we will be judged on how we chose to use all that God had blessed us with. My prayer for each and every one of us is that on that day we can appear before Christ and hear the words “Well done, good and faithful servant!”

As you prayerfully consider the why, what, how, and how much to give, you will find enclosed information that can further guide you, along with an Estimate of Giving card. This information will help in the planning and budgeting for the operational needs of our church. Cards may be returned either to the weekly offering plates, or to John Healy in the church office.
