Adult Education

At Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church, we believe that every individual is on a journey towards the discovery of faith. At whatever point you find yourself, we invite you to join us in making Christian education a vital part of your life’s path.

Throughout the year, we offer classes, lectures and fellowship events for members of our church and community. Programs are designed to communicate excitement in Christian education and to encourage people to gather together in joy as they grow together in Christian faith.

Come follow me and I will make you fishers of mankind. - Mark 17

Men’s Bible Study

We will approach this Bible Study by focusing on the passage of Scripture on which the Pastor will be preaching the following week. Participants are encouraged to read the passage before coming to class, to pray about it and seek understanding and meaning. What is God saying to us through this passage of Scripture? Participants are encouraged to write down questions raised in their minds and to bring those questions with them to class.

Our goal is to increase excitement for the study of Scripture as well as to create an interesting conversation focused on the Scriptures and contemporary life. It should be interesting to hear from each participant what he or she thinks a passage means, what question it raises in their minds and what is heard in the sermon after studying that passage and hearing it preached. The Men’s Bible Study meets Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m.

The Jim and Cindy Craig Memorial Sunday School

About 10 years ago Jim & Cindy Craig started a Sunday morning adult Bible study. Throughout the years Jim & Cindy nurtured and loved those who participated and the study grew in numbers as well as in commitments by  the participants.  It is in Jim & Cindy's memory that the Education Ministries Team has established the Jim & Cindy Craig Bible Fellowship to be an ongoing and essential part of the adult education program at VPC.

Using a new and timely curriculum, Al Starr will facilitate and lead this class. Study materials will be distributed each week for the following week’s lesson.

You don’t have to be present at every class to benefit from it all. We just ask that you come when you can make it. Please join us for coffee, good fellowship and Bible Study. Hope to see you there.

Lectures are free and open to the community.  Call 239-597-5410 for more information.
